Point Pleasant Borough High School Track to close for repaving

Point Pleasant Borough High School's track will close to all public activity to allow for repaving. The track is scheduled to close for approximately five- to seven weeks beginning Monday, June 19, according to Superintendent of Schools Vincent S. Smith. The varsity field will also be closed during the repaving project.

"Though we certainly apologize for any inconvenience the closure may cause, the track’s repaving will complete the renovations that have been made to the varsity stadium field over the past few years," said Superintendent Smith.

According to Mr. Smith, Al Saner Field has been almost entirely updated since 2015. New lighting and bleachers have been installed and earlier this year, the district completed the process of converting the existing grass field to low maintenance, high performing FieldTurf artificial grass.

The superintendent said he expects the track and field to reopen some time in July.

"Depending on the weather, and barring any complications, the repaving project could be finished as early as mid-July," he added. “Erring on the side of caution, I’ll say it will definitely be complete by the end of July.”
