Flu Resources

*Although the flu shot will not protect against EV-D68, it can help minimize the risk from secondary infections.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends everyone age six months and older receive the flu vaccine.

Health officials agree that the best way to combat the flu is to get vaccinated.
See right for the Federal Flu Vaccine Locator.

You can help limit the spread of the flu-like symptoms by following the health department's precautions:
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water, especially after sneezing and coughing
  • Stay home if you are sick. Return to school/work only after you have been fever free for over 24 hours
  • If you think you have the flu contact your doctor immediately
