Point Pleasant Borough High School's track and varsity football field will soon close to all public activity to allow for the installation of a new turf field system. Both Al Saner Field and the high school track are scheduled to close for approximately three months beginning Saturday, November 19, according to Superintendent of Schools Vincent S. Smith.
Signage indicating the and track and field’s closure will be posted in the coming weeks. The gates will also be locked to prevent all non-construction related access.
"Though we certainly apologize for any inconvenience the closure may cause, the field and track will be an active construction site, therefore, in order to protect everyone's safety, access is completely restricted," said Superintendent Smith.
The superintendent said construction is expected to take approximately two- to three months, weather permitting.
"We hope to have the project complete in time for the start of the Spring sports season," he added.
