Teachers Pension Annuity Fund [TPAF]
The TPAF (Teacher's Pension and Annuity Fund) is a pension program whose contributions are federally tax deferred. The current contribution rate is 7 .06%. Employees appointed to positions, requiring certification by the New Jersey Department of Education as members of a regular teaching, or professional staff of a public school system in New Jersey, and work 32 hours or more per week are required to enroll as a condition of employment.
In addition there is a Group Term Life Insurance Policy with a contributory rate of .004%.
Enrollment is automatic; however, you must complete your designation of Beneficiary form on-line with the Division of Pensions and Benefits.
