Public Employees' Retirement System [PERS]

The PERS (Public Employees' Retirement System) is a pension program whose contributions are federally tax deferred. The current contribution rate is 7.06%. All non-certified personnel working 32 hours or more per week in a position covered by Social Security, and with an annual salary of $7,700.00 or more are required to enroll as a condition of employment.

In addition there is a Group Term Life Insurance Policy with a contributory rate of .005%.

Enrollment is automatic; however, you must complete your designation of Beneficiary form on-line with the Division of Pensions and Benefits.
